    New Dutch Supercar!!

    Remember the vandenbrink company?
You know , they build a threewheeled vehicle named the carver.

Well he was asked by ferrari to make a drawing for their new model.
Ferrari ditched the design, but the response has been so good that they are going to build it themselves.
    What do you think?
    I think it's awesome!

Looks great but a bit like a mix of a TVR with a BMW

    Thumbs up

Very nice! There's a lot of vintage Ferrari influence to be sure, especially the front clip.

Right... it looks to me like a retro-modern throwback to the 250 GTO. Beautiful!

BTW, dutch, thought you'd be interested to know that it's a different Van der Brink than the Carver company.

Very pretty...what's with the skidplate looking rear diffuser. There was a one off, Zagato built (rebuilt) 575 done recently- I beleive it went to a Japanese customer-This car and the Zagato are very similar indeed. Uncomfortably similar in the front 3/4 view. Boy, that diffuser bugs me... like an afterthought, tacked on to solve an aerodynamic hiccup.....and we're talking about an artists rendering I think.

I'm with you Wayne, there's just no substitute for good coach work. But that look has been "trendy" for a while, and who knows maybe there's something under there that needs gettin' to on occasion.

I think the "tacked on" rear diffuser look is in style right now... everyone seems to be doing it.

I'm glad you like the design.
But where did you get your information from?
Please read the news carefully before spreading it.

I have no relation with Vandenbrink from the Carver.
And nobody was asked by Ferrari to design a new model which would be ditched later.
This design was made on my own initiative and Ferrari has nothing to do with this.

Just a realisation of my own dream, that's all.

To prevent further confusion, here is the original press release:

    PRESS RELEASE
    Date: September 24 2006
    Amsterdam

In the summer of 2006 Michiel van den Brink and Robert Koumans started the Vandenbrink Design company, located in the Netherlands.
The talented industrial designer Michiel van den Brink (28) is specialised in automotive design, with a unique modern interpretation of the DNA of classic automotive icons like Ferrari. Robert Koumans (44) is entrepreneur with a background in automotive and aerospace engineering, marketing and new media. Together they form a solid basis for establishing Vandenbrink Design as a high-end automotive and industrial design house.
The initial focus is on the realisation of the special sportscar designs which have been very well received by potential customers, especially the Vandenbrink GTO which was conceived as the 'Ferrari 599 GTO Mugello' concept study. Actual coachbuilding will be performed in cooperation with well-known Ferrari specialist and coachbuilder Hietbrink in the Netherlands.
Vandenbrink Design also offers her design talent and services to established and emerging car manufacturers and industrial product manufacturers.
The Vandenbrink Design company kicks off ambitious but with realism. However, the international interest in the GTO by sportscar enthusiasts and collectors exceeding expectations gives us hope that the GTO may be actually built. This would result in a dreamstart for the newborn Dutch automotive company Vandenbrink Design.

    Hi Michiel,

Thanks for joining! I LOVE YOUR CAR!!! The 250 GTO is one of my favorite cars of all time.

It's understandable that dutchguy confused you with the other Dutch Vandenbrink, no?

By the way, I reposted this thread over at the Lotus forum - lots of them love your car too: http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28761

Best of luck getting it built! I'd love to see one in the flesh!

I have no time to verify all the details, anyway no harm done and it did get atention didn't it?

Michiel zou je er iets voor voelen om een nieuwe studie te tekenen van een vehicross? Als je er een in het echt wil zien, Ik heb het enige exemplaar in de benelux.
