Though it may be more of a street toy...than a capable off roader....

...but IMO the styling rocks...especially the suicide rear doors.

Nice! Hope they can build something close to it....as per the article:
"Fordiosis X is very clearly a concept and is not intended to be representative of this future production model. Instead, it sets out to explore the ways in which Ford's kinetic design form language and detailing can be applied to a niche vehicle in a rugged and exciting way."

Ford really needs to get a more aggresive line of vehicles in order to compete...Hopefully this one could become one of the HALO models for Ford in the future.

HALO VEHICLE: A halo vehicle (or halo model) in automobile marketing is one designed and marketed to showcase the talents and resources of the manufacturers and to promote sales of other vehicles within a marque.

Cool! Looks like the love-spawn from a Focus/Axiom coupling.

sweet mammy! Would someone please tell me why there are so many HOT concepts out there but IF they ever see production, they get way de-edged and "hondaified" so that they look safe and not daring.

I mean, to me, the VX is kinda the same thing. I think we can all agree it is the hottes vehicle on the road, and pretty much anyone that sees one agrees with us, yet it saw a production run of less than 5k. :-/

we should pool our collective funds and start an auto company.

    for example...RSC, fords new concept...
is the look of the VX finally kicking in?

Bad@$$, but I still like the RSC better. This one looks like a Murano on roids.

Murano on roids.... nice.... thats hitting it on the head. I really like it, and I think those mirrors help alot too. The RSC is an old concept, so its not like you can compair this one to that one, but over the past 3 or so years there has been a new liking for smaller suv's so thats a good thing.

If Ford ever puts this out, I might have to consider a Ford. Sweet!
    Peace.

I find it interesting that no auto company has been willing to produce something like this or the RSC. I think market share on one of these would run a lot higher than whats going on with the FJ Cruiser.
Its really time for another HOT small 4WD SUV like the VX!
    VX's don't need no stinking mod's.
    But they're sure fun!

I just saw this thing for the first time, didn't know if anyone here had heard of it yet, but lo and behold.

    pretty slick...for a Ford.

here's another link that I found.

Separated at birth? Ford Iosis-X and Isuzu Vehicross

One of my favorite parts of Car and Driver's January '10 best' issues is the 'Winners and Losers' section. In this section they typically have humorous photos of various celebrities that look similar, headlined by "Separated at Birth".

Take a look at Ford's new Iosis-X concept car and compare it to the Isuzu Vehicross pictured above. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - Isuzu, consider
    yourself flattered.

Not too keen on the front end. It looks like it's wearing braces.
