Update: New Morgan-tec muffler & dual exhaust

New Morgan-tec SS muffler (polished ). This muffler is a work of art and built like a tank. The guys at the shop were quite impressed (thanks again Mike!)

2.25" inlet and 2x 2.5" outlets. No extra baffling.

It's tied-in right after the stock "Y" from the cats. I'm thinking of replacing the cats and re-do the piping and O2 sensors later.

Sorry I didn't get "before" pictures.

    Re-used existing rubber mounts.

    NEW DUALS!
and new tips- 2.5" - 3.25" - Single walled, rolled edge, oval.

Up and over and around the gas tank. The 912 lift gave oodles of room.

    one piece:

    two piece:

I had them place the tips recessed so they would be less prone to dissapearing on moab trails (a la Tone )

Unfortunately, to get the look, I lost the ability to use my shackle.

    ..and the sound clip:

keep in mind that it's only 3 days old - I'll post another in a month to see how much it "matured".

and yes, I have a red paint fetish.

    Cheers, eh.

Looking good. Keep up the great mods!

p.s. - do you mind if I ask how much this set you back to get installed?

    ~$80 for muffler.(super worth it!)
    ~$250 for install and parts.
Will be another ~$150 to do the piping between the cats and muffler (O2 sensors are there and a flex pipe). +cost of new cats.

I found a little "dad and son" shop with lots of experience - came highly recommended by the local speed shops. I basically told them to take the time and parts to do it right and then give me a bill. I'm quite happy, and I think I got a good job done...

And to add to that question, how does it affect an existing S/C?

Any info on emissions with this exhaust?

From what I understand, this set-up will not make too much of a noticeable difference in power (I don't notice anything myself - other than sound). I do plan to get a S/C in spring, so my hope was that this will help the S/C exhaust better. But I think the optimal compliment to a S/C is to maybe lose the cats and go with TWO smaller mufflers, one on each header pipe - true duals (Tone pointed this out to me and would have much more info on this).

Yes, I'd like to find some dyno results on the board here to see any before and after S/C with stock exhaust - then aftermarket muffler & duals. I'm curious myself.

As for emissions, most provinces here don't regulate them. Sorry, can't help you there. But curious too.

Right now for me, any notable performance increase would be a bonus as I was going for the look of duals, a more agrressive "growl", and a tough cool muffler. But come the S/C, if a better setup can add a noticeable amount of hp - I may consider it, so long as it's not crazy loud.
